I found this little fellow on a river bank last week. Is it an otter?

A possum that fell out of its mother's pouch? Since marsupials are born underdeveloped, I'd think this will be an ideal candidate.

I wonder why the thing I found doesn't have any ears? I think it may be a baby alien! Or a mini t-Rex. It does have short arms like a squirrel. But I was thinking otter cause I have been seeing lots of them lately on this river. But an otter would proly be lots bigger.

Here is a picture of some baby squirels for reference...

I still say possum....the squirrels have prominent ears and their eyes are split. This critter still has a layer of skin over the eyeballs.
