First time putting in plots. I put in a mixture of cowpeas, buckwheat, and peredovik sunflowers. I plowed, tilled, fertilized, broadcast, and then harrowed. I was pleased with the results. The deer utilized everything and absolutely hammered the plots. Unfortunately I got started late and was unable to establish any perennials which I plan on doing in a couple weeks. Didn't realize the work that went into food plotting, but worth it! Next time ill back off on my seeding rate. I think I may have overdone it a bit. The plots grew to around 5 feet high. The storms that came thru layed them down around the middle of July but the deer still used them. Enjoy!
