Has anyone ever had any luck duck hunting moss island or thorny cypress? Looking for somewhere to hunt on opening day since I didn't draw a blind on the local wma

You will not see ducks at Moss Island unless the MS river is at flood stage.

Thorny Cypress will be lucky to have water as well opening day. They flood the draw pools but the public access part is not pumped I don't think.
correct, the public fields only work after a very good hard rain...like 2 to 4 inches.....this from last year when hunted pool#2

I've been hunting TC since the draws started. We had WAY more success back when it was weekend only hunting. Ever since they added the week hunts, the birds seem to be there in the morning and not return in big numbers until after shooting time. Sure you can still have a great hunt, but that has been my experience.

The birds are definitely feeling the pressure there. Hunting was better the first few years that had the draws. Possible to still have a good hunt but my experience is the birds get run out and most don't come back
