Found my first ones of the season yesterday. Found 18 but they were pretty small. I'm still new at this Morel hunting and was wondering if they continue to grow over a period of days or are they as big as they are going to be when they come up? I have only found one spot and they are always on the north east side of a ridge, about3/4 of the way up. Is this the norm? Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated. I'm in north Weakley county.

Re-visit spots through the season. Not every morel comes up at the same time, and if you find an area favorable for them, it's worth another peek.

You might also go an extra step and jot on your calendar the Where and When of your finds, and then next year you will feel a bit more prepared for the hunt.
