I have a 2009 GMC sierra z71 and I bought a 2" rough country leveling kit to put on my ride. I really dont want to pay $300 to have it installed when from all i have read it is not very difficult to put on with the right tools. there are a bunch of videos and instructions out there showing how to put them on and most guys with any mechanical background say it takes about 30mins or so per side. I am far from a mechanic so I would love to see if any TNDEER members in middle tn know anything about installing one of these and would be willing to help me out in putting them on?

here is a video going over the install and the other link is the actual kit

I've done lifts on a few dodges, fords, and quite a few jeeps.
Can't be much different then dodge and ford lifts.
I've done a coil spacer on a GMC I think it was a 98 or 99
When are you looking at putting the level kit on?
Can't be as hard as my Jeep lift I did on my Jeep.
I've put 2 lifts on it actually a 4" a few years back and a 6" about a year and a half ago then added 2" more about a year ago

$300.00 doesn't sound out of line in this day and time for someones knowledge, labor, time and tools.

I'm with KPH here... $300 seems like a fair price all things considered.

$300 for 1 hours worth of work seems crazy to me. I've called around and had a few $200 quotes which is more reasonable IMO. Still rather do it with someone, heck I just like to learn new stuff

Would help if you were closer to Lewisburg? I think you would need a front end alignment afterwards?

$300 to put on a leveling kit is a little much to me.
I like doing stuff myself though.
I haven't had a mechanic touch any of my vehicles since I was 15.

With a leveling kit normally you don't need an alignment.
That's not to say nobody has ever needed one but normally all the leveling kit does is space the control arm down a little more. If it off set the camber or replaced the control arm then most likely would need an alignment.

When do you plan on installing it?
