Seen a BBQ show a few days ago that they put Mayo on ear corn then grilled it. Had to try it yesterday....not bad but different. They just put a glob of Mayo in their hands and rubbed up and down the ear of corn then put it on the grill. I had never heard of fixing it that way before.

That sounds good. I think mayo works well as an outer coating on a number of foods.

I went on an axis deer hunt in Hawaii and our guide mixed mayo with Korean BBQ sauce in a ziplock bag and put in chunks of backstrap. He made sure the pieces of meat were well coated with the mayo/Korean BBQ sauce mixture and then did them on a hot grill. I'm telling you they were to die for.

Also, mayo works really well as a coating on baked fish. It's great rubbed on salmon.

I find little use for mayo out of the jar, including using it like this.

However, if you've never made your own mayo, you're truly missing out. It is too simple to make to ever buy it in a jar. Plus, you can blend in whatever seasonings you'd like. We just about eat it with a spoon.

Here's a method using an immersion blender....it really makes it easy if you have one, but folks have been making it for decades with a hand mixer, or even a whisk & a bowl.

Homemade mayo would go awesome on corn, by the way. Throw in half a clove of garlic.

"Elote" - Little taco shop in East Nashville serves elote a few days a week. Possibly the best corn you can get anywhere.

Sounds good. Been putting mayo on fish for years since chef years ago on coast told me try it. Good stuff topped with Cajun spice.
