Mark Kelly - should he own a bulldog?

Seems a dog belonging to Mark Kelly's daughter mauled and killed an innocent sea lion pup on a California beach and he had to drag it off the beach. Who is going to stand up for the innocent sea creatures? Why does an astronaut need a bulldog? It must be too easy to get one - protect the innocent - close the dog show loophole.
