I thought the 20ga thread went so well I start another with the even smaller guns. I'll start again...
Savage 555 .410 with a TRS-25 sight. Apex Ammo 9.5s. Gonna start with the factory full choke and go from there.

I'm going to try this one out with Apex 9.5's. Browning model 42. Fixed full choke. I'll probably wait until late season when the vegetation is thicker in the timber to hide the shine on the gun better.

You must remember that a 28 and 410 are not legal everwhere.....(LBL-not smaller than 20 gauge or larger than 10 gauge)

May be some other places with these regs, I would check before going.

Why do you use 9.5 shot, when most guys use like 4-6 size shot.. thanks!

I've got an old school Model 42 Winchester, 3in mag, 26in, full choke barrel that I still hunt. Proven killer sure 'nuff. I just left it back in Florida to have a friend re blue it. I'll be back down there in less than 3 weeks to pick it up, just in time for March 3rd on Fisheating Creek and then on to The Cypress ;) Hopefully I'll be able to post a kill pic with it then :) Just spent almost two weeks in the Panhandle deer hunting. Gobblers were blowing the friggin woods down. Had to re hang a few stands several times just to be able to get away from them :) Drives me absolutely insane to hear them gobbling and not be able to hunt them.

Pressfit, they are using Apex ammo which is heavy weight (also very hard and round) Tungsten shot. Because it is so much heavier than lead you can use smaller shot and still get penetration. Most charts I have seen signify that you can go up 4-5 shot sizes from your normal lead shot choice and get the same penetration. It's basically better at being lead than lead! The disadvantage is extreme cost. You will not go shoot a round of skeet with the stuff and keep your wife from finding out... :smash:
