I'm wanting to get me a small Jon boat for fishing some backwater and small lakes around here. Let's see what y'all are using.
I live on an 8 acre lake, and have a 1436 I use there. Trust me, do NOT buy anything smaller than a 42" bottom. Honestly I wouldn't buy anything smaller than a 48" bottom. A 36 just isn't stable enough for much.

17.5 ft G3 raised transom tunnel hull w/75hp Yamaha 4-stroke (hydraulic trim / PowerLift manual jackplate), Minn Kota trolling motor (42 lbs), Eagle electronics. The only vessel that'll get through skinnier water is a jet or an airboat.

My new (to me) 2009 G3 1756 CCDLX w/ F60 Yamaha. Will spend it's winters in the FL flats.
