LBL either sex

I have no desire to kill anything there but a shooter buck......but to each his own............... ;)

Yeah I've been since they made it either sex twice, but I won't shoot a doe, unless I'm on my last setting before its time to pack up and go to the house. I shot an 11 point there a few years ago after passing on a doe that morning. And another later that same afternoon. And last year I passed on a few does never got a kill but spotted a nice 8. Could not get a good shot.

Been either sex for a few years now. I talked with some of the LBL employees and they said that there needed to be more female deer killed. They need to go one more step and make each permit "two deer-only one antlered" to accomplish this. Most hunters go there in search of a large antlered buck and will not shoot a doe or small buck. This includes me.

It already is 2 deer with ONLY one antlered deer. My worry is that they may opt to have the "Earn-A-Buck" which I hate.

I sure hope that they don't go to a earn-a-buck program like Cross Creeks and Tennessee National where you have to kill an antlerless deer first.

Yep. Two deer, only one antlered PER YEAR for the entire area (KY and TN). Quota permits are only one deer, either sex. The second deer will have to be taken with archery equipment.
Doubt if they will go to AR's or earn a buck. Just wish they would loosen up on the antlerless numbers. Archery should be at least two antlerless (if not unlimited)and one antlered per state as it was up until recently.

Yup. Since LBL is Federal and it has its' own set of rules for deer management then each quota needs to be "All Inclusive" to ALL of LBL when putting in for the hunts.

I think what Roost meant was go back like it was a few years ago. You could split your choices between KY and TN on the same application which I did several times. I asked about that when they changed to one state only and was told that there weren't enough people splitting their choices to change their computer program to accept both. Said it would cost too much to reprogram.
