Went to get my coffee this morning and got a show! It's a jake on a hen that i am pretty sure hatched very early this spring.
Glad to see this still going on but not sure any poults will be the result...

Breeding is still going on, and will be for another few weeks. Can't see the wing coverlets to tell if that is a jenny or an adult hen, but I am certain it is not a female from an early hatch this year. That female is at least 6 months old to have adult plumage, but probably at least 9-12 months old. And hens don't set for males just for fun. They only set when they are ovulating and producing eggs, so I'm sure she is about to lay or has already started laying.

Based solely on this single picture . . . . . .
I believe it's just an optical illusion, in that the hen appears small,
albeit she may in fact be smaller than most for her age.

I'd seriously doubt she could be any younger than 9 months,
and is likely older than that.

The jake is all puffed up, and appears larger than he may normally appear as well.

It's a small hen, not a poult, but I can't see the wing patch well enough to tell if it's a Jenny or an adult hen. It could be a Jenny that wasn't ready to ovulate earlier in the season and now is, or it could be a mature hen that's just doing her thing
