at Gadsden, AL on the Coosa river chain. Supposed to be the land of the 5-6 pound spots. Anybody got any tips? Leaving this afternoon, then fishing Thursday and Friday, then fishing a BFL event there Saturday. Any info is appreciated.

good luck it can be feast or famine I doubt a bag of spots will win at all but largemouth will make the difference. I always have good luck with a watermelon red brush hog around structure off the main channel this time of year if you want to target spots cant beat a shakey head

Thats a great pond and 4 lb spots are not rare at all. I have fished a few Red man/bfl tourneys down there myself. I dont think those fish had ever saw a homemade TN flatside crankbait before!lol they will eat it up earlier in the year! A jig on all that rip rap will produce well also!

Good luck on 5-6lb spots in July. They don't even catch them on Bay Springs lake this time of year and it's better than NH for trophy spots.
