Metro Police officer in Nashville Same thing happened to him. Gotta wonder if he got the same sort of kids glove treatment? Never heard the outcome of that one.

Had he lacked friends with either money and/or influence in Mexico, he would still be in a Mexican jail. "Skating" is relative I suppose.

Also, he may well have been fired, but I can find no mention of that anywhere. I may have missed info that you're privy to.
It says right in the title he was fired.

No he wouldn't still be in a Mexican jail, don't be silly. 🤣 And he would probably still have his job.

I'm not "privy" to anything. The link you posted said he was decommissioned. That means he was fired.

It says he was decommissioned. That's not the same as fired.

"....A decommission is a non-punitive, administrative action that temporarily takes away an officer's policing authority for reasons that range from misconduct investigations to medical issues, according to the Metro Police Department's policy. While an officer can be reinstated, they're not always......"

According to the article, Busch was sentenced to 3.5 years and he was held at the airport until released. Did he plead guilty on the spot; no trial? I guess it would be the easiest path if all it takes is some cash to do away with the sentence.

It sounded like the Mexican our fgr authorities are expecting him to return, at least that was the way I took how i read it. But no doubt he paid someone off to be allowed to leave.

I got in a swivet crossing the border back into the US. We were in San Antonio for the World Skeet Shooting Championships and drove down to Nuevo Laredo for some shopping and dinner. No issue going into Mexico but as we were in line to come back into the US, my shooting partner realized that he had left a loaded pistol under the floor mat on the passenger side. I was driving but it was his car. I pulled up to the border agent, he looked around a bit and then asked me where the guns were. I about crapped my pants. It was then that I followed his eyes and he was looking at my cap "National Gun Club". I told him that ALL our guns were locked up at the hotel in San Antoino. He waved us through and I had a sigh of relief.
