1st pic is the smoke house. 2nd pic is what we got (brisket under all of this). 3rd is 7 minutes later. Went to Blacks as well. To full to take a picture.

Never forget the very first time I ate there. The lil girl working the register had everything on our tray, we paid, and she said, "Thank ya'll and enjoy your supper." Then she saw she'd forgot our "plates" and hollered, "Hang on lemme'git y'all 2 plates!"

Ripped 2 big'ol sheets of butcher paper...I mean plates.

If you thought Lockhart BBQ was good I got a little news for you...there's even better If you know where to look. The Salt Lick in either Round Rock or the original in Driftwood, B Daddy's in Helotes, Franklin's in Austin, Smoke Shack in San Antonio.

I roll my eyes every time someone from KC claims they got the best brisket or burnt ends. The sorriest brisket from any one of these places (and more) is better than blue ribbon award winning KC BBQ.

TN still got the good pig though...here and eastern NC.

Good for you all I want to visit all those places one day. I think the ones in Lockhart for the history and atmosphere as much as the food.
