Headed up to KY next weekend to gun hunt. I know some on here hunt KY quite a bit, or live in KY. About what stage of rut will we be in come next weekend? Lockdown?? I am hunting Christian county.

I think you'll hit it at the perfect time. I'm in far sw Ky and the past 2 days have seen the bucks really interested in the does. One this morning was really locked in on one and the way he acted he's still following her around right now.
Pre-rut is showing in Trigg and western Christian. Hope the weather cools down a little. Currently little daytime movement except early and late. Most crops have been harvested and cover crops planted.
Looks like weather will change just in time for gun opener
It's going to be perfect this weekend. The stars are aligning and it should be bonkers where I hunt. Good luck!

New sign is showing up everyday where I hunt. Deer movement in the daytime was slow this past weekend, but sign is everywhere, scrapes and rubs.

Saw seven 3.5+ year old bucks and a few young bucks pestering does by 7:30 yesterday morning in Todd County. Not quite all out chasing but getting hot. My KY season ended when I took a 6 year old P&Y 11 point at 30 yards.

We've only seen seeking. No chasing yet.
Just started seeing pre-rut activity this past weekend in Christian Co.
I'm hunting in Christian county.
Weather looking good. Won't know about rut activity until I get there but historically opening weekend of gun is the best week/weekend for us over the last 10 years.
