I have seen several color variations in wild turkeys, but never one as unique as this jake. His legs and thighs are white and he has enough white over his body to be grey instead of the black-bronze of a normal bird. Mother nature is beautiful.

His shanks are white but his legs are still pink/ dirty pink/ pinkish gray correct? If the actual skin on his legs is white, that would be first amongst any wild OR even domesticated turkeys I've ever heard of.

The genetics that cause phenotypic expression of plumage color in poultry is incredible. Some genes are dominant, some recessive, some codominant, some sex linked, and even some incompletely penetrant.
