How would you pronounce this little girl's name? Le-a...
Leah (nope)
Lee A (nope)
Laya (nope)

After the girl kept coming home from school crying because everyone kept mis-pronouncing her name the irate mother of this small Kansas City Student went to the school to straighten them out. Her name is Ladasha! Ladasha! The dash don't be silent.

After 38 years at the post office I thought I'd heard it all.

Thanks for the laugh, that's awesome. Up in the skirts of Detroit, I lived by a woman who named her Daughter, Placenta.(sp)

My favorite was the wife of a guy I worked with.
She was a school teacher.
Had a boy in her class named Emergency.

Makes you wonder if she has a brother named Da/a. (Daslasha)

My mother worked delivering babies for many years at a local hospital. Here are some of the more memorable names she heard.

1) Chandelier
2) Fe-Male (rhymes with tamale)
3) Gonoria emphasis on the "nor" ( the doctor had told the woman she had Ghonorhea)

There were more, but I can't remember them all.

When I was on OB at Emory a kid was born with merconium staining....essentially the child had a BM before being born. Upon hearing the kid had merconium stain(so they watch for infection, etc) she said, I like that for a name.........somewhere in Atlanta is a kid named Merconium!
