Florida didn't exactly knock it out of the park with Zook, Muschamp and Mcelwain. And could have possibly ended up with Randy Shannon if Urban hadn't inherited Alex Smith at Utah.

Both Zook and Muschamp were big names at the time of hire. They just didn't pan out. Muschamp was the coach in waiting at Texas when he signed with UF. No one can dispute that UF is not a top 10 program. I will give you Mac but he still went 9-4, 10-4, before leaving at 3-4 his final year. He even won SEC coach of the year.

Let's not forget Spurrier, Meyer, and Mullins.
