I haven't used a bank in probably 45 years. I belong to two (2) credit unions. I get one hundred checks for twenty dollars.

Most of my banks gave me free checks, only had to pay if I fancied them up beyond their offerings. One box of checks lasts me decades as I only use them when I have to pay someplace that charges me to use a card, like my plates/registration and taxes. Sometimes I pay with a check when I buy something from someone that doesn't have paypal or zelle, I hate paying for money orders (and it sucks filing a claim), I can wait until it clears so it's no big deal on my end.

It is easier to fool with checks than getting cash to pay for certain things.

Cashing checks for depositing into the checking account is easy by using the bank's ap on the phone.

I get my checks for free so don't know what a normal cost would be.

I've got a plan for the final payment (coming soon).....it's mean spirited, but awesome and involves several wheel barrows and simple math on the receiving end. One of which doesn't exist for certain 😂
