I need to say this.

Yesterday I found out that I have lost my fourth friend to date to drinking and driving. One was killed by a drunk driver and the other three were drunk themselves and thankfully didnt hurt anyone else in other vehicles. I have lost friends in Afghanistan but that was always a possibility in our minds and we were prepared for that. You could even say that some were supposed to die in combat. The thing that really gets me is that my four friends weren't supposed to die and wouldnt have if drunk driving were not involved. All of this is to say that drinking and driving is not excusable under any circumstances and is one of the most selfish things that anyone can do. If you are so unsatisfied with your life that you feel the need to go drink and then drive around, do society a favor and either stay at home or make sure that you kill only yourself. This may sound harsh but far too many innocent people are hurt and killed by drunk drivers to not say it. What if your parent, wife, or children were killed by a drunk driver who did not think about anything but their own dam* self? Think about that the next time you want to do something stupid. You are all far to loved to do that to yourselves and others are far to loved to have you do that to them. Ok, let me put away this soap box of mine. Im done.

Very well put. Sorry for the loss of your friend.

It dont pay to drink and drive. If you dont wreck and hurt someone or yourself, your going to get a DUI and be paying thousands in fines and insurance will go sky high.

Ive done it many a times, it was stupid and i even knew it at the time. But i had the mindset like many others that i was good to drive and the DUI's and wrecking happens to the others and wont happen to me. Just glad i never have to worry about that again. My life is way better now without the drinking and partying and i refuse to go back to my old ways.

Sorry for the loss of your friend, and I agree with you wholeheartedly. To be so selfish as to drink and drive is one of the lowest classes of human beings. It could be me, my wife, daughters, brother, mother or father that is the recipient of the stupidity of the DUI offender. And I believe that the offenders get off far too easily, far too often.

Well said, DirtyBear. Like you, I've seen WAY too many innocent people killed because of somebody's selfish decision to do that.

Most who sit in front of me with DUI conviction will tell you to call a cab. Thousands saved, not to mention the risk to yourself and others.
