I have a '94 2WD. We paid somewhere around $4000 new. Just about any base model 4X4 Honda is near $6k today.

I'm looking around your year '94 it looks like 1,800 to 2,500

Mine is a peach. I'd always hoped it was worth more because it's been babied and still looks good. I'm having a problem with intermittent dying and haven't been able to track it down, but otherwise the only thing I've ever done was replace batteries and keep it serviced.

The battery on my model are higher than others, so I'm told and they haven't come cheap. Seems like it has something to do with the post set-up.

For my purposes, the 2WD has been all I've needed, but could understand why you might need a 4WD.

One of my friends in TX bought one and the salesman told him all the places where he wasn't allowed to ride it. He decided all he could do was park it in the garage! Just kidding, but it is getting harder to find a place to ride.

Best atv ever made period. I have a 99 model 4x4 I bought new and she's as strong today as the day I brought her home. I've pretty much only used it for hunting. $1500-2000 wouldn't touch it if I were trying to sell it. Good luck finding one.

I wouldn't take $3k for mine. When you buy used, you don't know.

I've got an 86 4x4 that runs like a champ, fires right up and goes anywhere. Fouls a plug once and awhile that's it and great on fuel.

I got a WELL USED one. I think its a late 80's model.
Smokes like crazy. Needs the valve seats reground.
Retail value of a bike that old with smokey valves...$450
Cost to do a top end job....$475...
Cost to replace bike with something comparable and newer ~ $2000-2500ish.

So I think its worth keeping. I have a buddy who will do the top end job for a bottle of good whiskey if I buy parts but He lives in LA...

I know they are supposed to be good machines, but I wouldn't give more than $1500, at the most. I bought an 06 rancher 350 2wd for $1800.
