"Just boil some condensed sweetened milk in water for about 2 hrs" they say.

Who's got time to baby sit a pot of boiling water for two hrs. I decided I could use this time to set some posts for mama's carport.

Now when I get done scraping the walls and washing the stove and light fixtures, I get to repaint the ceiling.

Screw this. The crap is cheeper to buy.

You only have to add water about every 30 min or so. I love me some caramel pie with whipped cream. Then again its hard to beat O'Charley's caramel pie.

30 minutes goes by a lot faster than I thought and that little can of condensed milk makes a LOT of caramel.

Hot caramel also adheres very well to spackled ceiling and stone back splashes

I know you can dulche de leche from condensed milk. Never done caramel. You can make caramel from sugar/water a lot quicker.

I tried this back in 1987..i was working 3rd shift.. put it on to boil..thought I would catch a little nap.. I heard something go.."poof" walked into the kitchen.. it looked like a bomb exploded.. I used the bigger size can of SCM.. I washed and scraped and moped for ever.. finally had to paint over some of it on the cabinets.. years later we would sometimes still laugh when we opened a cabinet and found some more....
