Mounting on a .22 lever action Browning...

Nikon Rimfire 4x32, 11.5" long, 13.1 oz., 3.7" eye relief, Nikoplex 11.1-50 FOV @ 100 yds, 1" tube-- $79.99

OR

Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32, 11.5" long, 13.9 oz., 3.8" relief, Nikoplex 33.4-9.5 FOV @ 100 yds, 1" tube-- $99.99

Please take into consideration that I'm a scope noob, I'm not even sure how to find out what rings to buy to get this onto my .22, but by personality I tend to adapt to whatever I have, and be fine with it.

Opinions? They're both on sale, and my birthday's almost here!

The rimfire scopes have served me well over the years, basically just 50 yards and in with a .22 lr, never felt the need for high end glass.

Yessir!! I have a BSA's on my .22's and my .17 HMR. Works great and VERY accurate. The .17 HMR with the 6x18x40 can ding a yote in his earhole at 100 yards every time! My 11 year old shoots clays set up on a dirt berm with her 3x7 rimfire BSA @ 50 yards without issue on a Ruger 10/22. The rimfire scope was less than 40.00 and has held its setting for several years without fail.

I have a tasco 4 power that I used to have on a Colt 22 rifle for 25 plus years... still to this day clear as a bell.. it outlasted the gun.. the gun still shoots but I have ran many a shell through that baby.. 4 power is plenty for a 22 lr

Aight, ya'll talked me off the cliff.

I've got a Simmons Truplex .22 Mag scope, a BSA, and a Barska Plinker, all in 3-9x32, on my wish list for comparison. Also gonna see about picking up a good quality air rifle/scope combo.

All this squirrel excitement last month has whet my appetite for sky rat.

At the risk of bringing up something you probably already know, I'll mention that scopes not specifically rated for air rifles, even high quality ones, can be damaged by the negligible but completely different recoil from an air rifle. Probably more info than you wanted is available at these links.

Thanks, Bam. From what I've already gathered, a lot of the scopes that come with combos aren't worth much at all, but you can score a decent one for not much more than $20 that will make you a happier shooter. I'll check those links out!

For future reference, those who assume I know anything have yet to meet me.
