Why does MNCO feel its necessary to post anything on social media and they aren't even on the scene?
Pandering?
The Metro Nashville Community Oversight Board has been extensively pandered to, if that's what you mean, and as a consequence, is one of the most powerful governmental or quasi-governmental entities in the city. Demographics and universal suffrage.

that and the beating in Memphis are very, very different - "worlds apart" in what happened or appeared to happen... This guy appears to have had a gun but I could not tell what he was doing. It almost appeared like he was trying to pull something when the shooting started. Certainly a better camera view would help significantly in this video... If the guy has a gun and is doing stuff like in the video it is not surprising he got shot...

The one in Atlanta is the stupid of stupid... the one in Atlanta where the "activist" shoots at the cops and they end up killing him so people want to protest, there is nothing to protest... However, it is only going to get worse...

MNPD is pretty good in these situations and provide a lot of transparency. At least that's how they have handled a lot of situations like this in the past - and there have been quite a few. Sunlight is a good disinfectant.

I have unlimited PTO with my job. However, I won't be attending any rallies in my free time - whether they lean politically right or left. Waste of time.

Hadn't seen the video, but sounds like this was a pretty cut and dry case of the officer acting in self defense. Of course that means nothing to the "peaceful protestors".

The inevitable rabble rousing has begun. How much traction it will get remains to be seen.

"The Nashville NAACP spoke out on Tuesday following an officer-involved shooting where a Black man was killed.....

......."If you are a Black man with a weapon, you're a dead man," said Venita Lewis, President of the Nashville NAACP.

......In the body camera video, Officer Ramos can be heard yelling at the armed Black man to drop his weapon multiple times.

However, Lewis says she feels there needed to be more of an effort by police to de-escalate the situation.

"They de-escalate with other races. But when it comes to a dark-skinned man, it automatically leads to death," said Lewis......."

Maybe Venita can ride along and try to de-escalate similar situations like this one in person?

How much more "effort" is she talking about I wonder? Maybe allowing 1, maybe 2 officers to be shot before deploying their own weapons? Geez! What a freaking maroon!

Yes, That's exactly what she and others of her ilk are advocating. What's troubling is that more and more people, some in positions of power, are taking her seriously.
