Hafta brag a bit

This year is the first year my students have attended wildlife conclave. For those that don't know what conclave is, it is a competition between 22 colleges and universities in the southeast. This year there are about 350 competitors. All the competitions are based on wildlife management.

Now the bragging. One of my students took first place in the goose calling competition, and second place in the turkey calling competition. He placed in the turkey competition without the aid of any calls, he did all the calls with just his mouth!

Tomorrow we start the serious competitions! I hope to brag in them some more!

Well, they made a good showing in quiz bowl. They beat university of Maryland in the opening match, but them lost to tennessee tech and Virginia tech.

Very proud of them. They had three good matches and weren't shut out in any of them!

That's awesome, man. I am reading Ray Eye's first book and in it he says that he has called more turkeys with his voice than any other way. I would love to become a good voice caller like that. Congrats!
