I know hack and squirt time is around the corner, and I was wondering if I could expect the same results by drilling holes in the tree (at an angle of course) instead of hitting it with the chainsaw. Just figured it would be easier toting the cordless drill around, but I wasn't sure if the Gly would have enough contact with the "blood vessels" of the tree with just a hole.

Never thought of trying a drill. I have been successful in the past with a small hatchet. I'll be interested to hear responses on this one.

A small sharp hatchet will perform very well. Cut back the bark all the way around the tree, then spray the herbacide under the bark. I've had good luck with Tordon and Arsenal, but Gly-4 only stunted mature gums.
