I know there has to be a few photographers on here so I decided to post some pics and get some critique. Now I am not a photographer but I am trying to learn to edit photos. I am using a program called Gimp to edit because it's free. I may invest in Lightroom4 later on. So critique away, I have a tough skin.

Pic straight out of camera. Looks washed out.

After edit. The bullets were washed out and I edited just them. Done a slight crop.

Edited pic. I used the healing tool on this one to clean up some spots.

Gimp is a really good program.

Here is a forum that specializes in the Gimp program:

The person who runs it is really helpful.

My primary program is the Corel PhotoPaint (kind of like PhotoShop I think). I used Gimp for a couple of years before I bought this one.

I hate Gimp It is powerful, but its one of the most anti-intuitive programs out there. Google has some free Software(Picassa), and the editing on Photobucket(also free) isn't too bad either. although on-line photo editing has problems of its own.

Gimp is great software and I use it fairly frequently. But for simple edits like exposure, contrast, brightness, saturation, etc. those are built into the image preview app on the Mac so I just use that. But for any more detailed editing I use Gimp. The pics look good.
