What a morning! Only heard a few gobbles but the hens were going crazy. About 8:00 I had 10+ hens and 5 toms strutting about 70 yards to my right. Realizing they were moving away from me I backed into the woods and sprinted through the woods to the top of the field. Once I was repositioned I realized the birds were crossing into the woods on the other side of the field, this is when I crawled, crept, rolled my way down where this bird was still strutting... I actually had to wait until he had his back to me, step into the field and pull the trigger... The old Benelli dropped him in his tracks at 40 yards! 22 lbs, 8 inch beard, 1 inch spurs
