Georgia barrier islabds

Anyone ever hunt any of the Georgia barrier islands for deer/hogs? Thinking of applying this year to a first come first serve place and a normal quota place. Any insight from someone that has done it would be appreciated. Thanks

I applied last year for the hog hunt on Ossabow, didn't get drawn. I knew I couldn't go this year so I elected for a preference point. I'm thinking I should have a good chance of pulling a permit next year.

The hog only hunts seem to get more applicants than the deer/hog hunts from what I saw on the selection odds. I'm putting in as a party with others so that will lower chances as well.

Hunted Ossabaw twice. Very small deer and good number of pig. Both December hunts. Shot so many hogs one day I lost count. Every possible size of pig. Had a headache from shooting so much. Loads of fun. Bring plenty of food and be prepared for rain. Email me with any questions.
