Game Cameras on WMA’s

Are they allowed in Tennessee?
My buddy called someone who told him they weren't. But we were walking around a WMA, couple guys we met were going in to check their camera.

Not TWRA employee but I would suggest you get in touch with the personnel that's over the particular WMA and ask them. I know you can ask to leave a stand up for a particular time but you needto have approval from WMA manager of the area.

It is illegal to leave any equipment, including trailcams, unattended for more than 24 hrs. without approval from the Area Manager.

^^^ What he said. My buddy's cameras were confiscated by a warden in SW TN. YMMV

Warden over here told me I could put up as many as I wanted. That was 2 years ago. I'd contact him and make sure before I did this year.

I think it truly matters which WMA your at. I have walked some WMAs and seen quite a few and other times never seen any. If you do get permission to put some in a wma I would make sure to buy some locks I use python locks to deter thieves.
