We live in an apartment and aren't suppose to have dogs anyway, we took her in to keep her from going to the pound.

Not the best way but may be better than the pound. I hope you don't have to do either.
I don't think we are goin to find another place to rent either, 99% of the places I've seen don't allow any pets

I sat with a pile of puppies in front of Walmart one time and have all of them away.
