I purchased a property last year and have been busy. A list of some of the things I have done. It is never ending.
Marking boundaries
Chainsaw clear cuts
Enlarge foot plots
TSI - hack and squirt

I completely agree on the journal idea. We have a photo album in our cabin filled with all the pictures we took while building the cabin. It gets looked at regularly, and often pictures will trigger forgotten memories.
