Took my youngest girl (6) fishing yesterday. Learned a few things....

1. She wants to go FAST, no matter what we are doing the boat must be going FAST!

2. Catch a fish, go FAST now to another spot Daddy.

3. She has a bladder the size of a peanut!

4. FAST!

5. She drinks LOTS of water!

6. FASTER!

7. Make many trips to the bank for emergency potty stop!

8. Go FASTER!!

9. Tangle every pole on the boat!

10. Did I mention my 6 year old likes going fast?

I would not trade a second!! We had a great time speeding all over the lake and speed trolling for crappie.... we even managed to catch 15 of them, they were the fastest ones in the school! Everyone else was catching limits. :D

The key is to think you are just taking the kids for a boat ride and getting a line wet if we catch a fish that is always just extra. I have to remind myself that even with the older girls. Glad you did catch some 15 to a 6yr old would be like 1000 to us. Lasting memories :)

Making memories. That's what life is about. It great that you took her fishing. You know the difference between taking a kid fishing and letting a kid tag along. She will never forget that you made the day about her. :)

Sounds great! I understand completely. My son was the same way. Now that he is a teenager, the go fast request has changed a little. He looked me in the eye last year while we were tubing and said "Be as unsafe as possible without killing me!" I looked at my wife and told her we were in trouble. I don't think I will let him drive until he is about 25!

Was a great day on the lake no matter fish or not
I have loved all the trips with my kids when they were that age (long time ago now) wouldnt trade them for anything in world.
Im sure this wont be the last trip like that
then one day you will sit back and wonder what happened to that sweet little girl I once knew.

I already am! They grow and change so fast! We usually do family trips, but this time was just Libby and Daddy time. The two older girls met us at the truck as we pulled in. Libby did you catch fish, lemme see them, was it fun, oh, Hi dad...LMBO!!

Sounds like it was a great time
My grand daughter now comes over and first thing she does is give a hug and want to go get crickets and fish in the pond out back
and we usually do
Moments to treasure
