If you aren't fishing braid to leader on a spinning reel, you need to try it. Better casting, better line management, better sensitivity and no stretch line mono.

On flouro compared to mono, I don't think the visibility of the line makes one bit of difference on the TN river with our 2-3 foot of water visibility. With that said, I hate mono. Flouro once you learn to spool it correctly is so much more functional. Its more sensitive and it doesn't have that stretch/spongey feeling when you get a hook. Only time I use mono is for topwater because the line doesnt sink line flouro but I often throw braid to mono leader for that. Flouro can get brittle on you and you need to retie every now and then but the advantages to me far out weigh the cons imo. Some people swear by mono though.

If you dont spool flouro correctly, it can be a royal pain in the butt. The line will twist and weaken it.
