Flew in this week to hang out with my boys and went on Sardis in search of crappie. Caught a dozen or so and a couple catfish which made for a great fish fry. My son did catch the biggest crappie I've ever seen.

I grew up going to Sardis. My grandfather and an uncle built a small fishing cabin there in the 60s. My dad lived there for a while until he died in 92. In the late 80s, you could catch a limit of crappie that would probably average at least 1.5 lbs. It was crazy the size of those fish.
Glad you got to spend time with your kids and catch some fish.

I fished Sardis exclusively for over 20 years. We had a place down there.

Best limit of 30 fish I ever caught weighed 78 lbs. Caught them up in Lower Graham section of the lake one year when there was enough water to get back in there. Some great fishing back then.

My uncle and his fishing partner out of Memphis were down there last week. They had 5 fish over 3 lbs and one weighed 3lb 15 oz. They limited out 4 days straight tight lining with jigs fishing mainly the back of Clear Creek and out in front of Toby.
