Did some trading with some boot and ended up getting the pistol I have longed for for the longest.
It’s a colt commander xse (no idea what that means).
I’m excited to take it and shoot a bit. Been wanting a 1911 forever and finally got one!! Merry late Christmas to me!!
I also want new grips and an iwb holster. Any recommendations?

Well, “Commander” model means same size grips / magazine as a full size Government model (5”) but with only a 4 1/4” barrel.
“XSE” is one of the nicest model (most custom upgrades) found on one of their off-the-shelf offerings. Extra touches like slanted (and front) slide serrations, Novac sights, undercut triggerguard, beveled magwell, upgraded hammer, three hole trigger, upswept grip safety, extended thumb safety. These are features you won’t find on a plain jane Colt Commander or Government model.
Very nice piece! Now shoot the heck out of it!
