My son is a machinist but we've never chambered a barrel. I had an old barrel with a high round count so we decided to set it back about 2 inches and see how we do. I think it came out looking great but now I get to see how it shoots.

Awesome buddy!! What was it before and what is it now?
It was a 30 in 1-10 twist kreiger in .308 with a cortina tuner. I used the 2013 FTR US rifle team reamer from PTG. Now it's 28"! I'm gonna take it out out today and work up a load using the Lou Murdica method. I hope it will come back to life. It had a round count of 2080 rds.

I wouldn't think 2000 rounds on a 308 would be a high round count. Looks good tho.
The barrel was just starting to open up a little. For a match rifle, that's the death knell. You don't want to be in the middle of a big match when it decides to fall off the wagon. It wouldn't hold a tune either.
