After bugging friend of mine for past year he finally came off this Model 7 I have been wanting. Have been wanting one for a while in an oddball caliber and this one fits the bill as it is in .260. Leupold Vari-XIII 2.5-8x36. Made in 1980, I love the 70s-80s years of Remington Firearms. Will go nice with my 700 and 870 both of the same vintage and condition.

Not sure on the years they made them. This has a barrel code of AA. From what I read that could give it a production date of March 1980, however I have also read that they did not start making them until 1983. I also notice the letter codes stop in 2002 on the charts. Will ahve to do some more research on this I guess.

Congrats on the model 7. I have one in 260 and one in 7-08. For the 260, I have had good luck with the 120gr Seirra ProHunter handloaded. Im also having some great accuracy with the Sierra GameKing HP at 130grs.
