Does anyone have a recommendation for a 'field reference' or 'pocket guide' to ID not only trees but different type of ground flora that would be applicable to the middle tennessee area???

I'm picking up a new piece of land and need to do some walking and studying -

Thoughts??????

thanks

I like the book BSK mentioned, Guide to Southern Trees (Harrar & Harrar) is good as well. National Geographic also has a series of books dedicated to South Eastern trees, and flora and fauna.

I got it for Xmas. I am very pleased. Lots of pictures and information on what wildlife prefer such and such plants. Money well spent IMO.
