I was told by a friend today that has some firearms industry connections that Federal will be shutting down production of regular shotshells in the very near future to switch entirely over to a military contract for slugs and buckshot.

I have no way to verify the info, but consider the source pretty reliable.

If you need any regular loads, you may want to do some shopping.

Bummer. My gun loves federal premiums. I think that would be economic suicide to put all your business in 1 basket.

More likely switching because the shelves and warehouses are FULL of this ammo and there are no slugs and buckshot.
