Deer flies and horse flies are bad this year too.
Are those the ones that keep slamming you in the back of the head? You keep swatting at them like you're at a rave concert and never seem to hit them? Meanwhile they just keep hitting you left and right and top of the head. If so, they had my number yesterday. It all started as soon as I got to our place and I opened my truck door. Instantly put me in a irritated mood

Few things make my BP higher than a persistent biting a$$ horsefly. Over a few hours yesterday afternoon, four different ones attacked me while I was swimming with my kids. They all died eventually, but I was pretty distracted and irritated when they were around.

Watching deer regularly in the back yard, I'm amazed at how much the horse flies pester the deer. I've seen deer take off on a flat run to try and get away from them. No surprise that squirrels have ticks as well. Took this pic the other day.
