I agree with both you guys. When a man decides to become a transgressor he accepts all the consequences that come along with that choice. It may be imprisonment or it may be death at the hands of someone who refuses to be a victim. Whatever happens he made the choice to go down that road.

Warning shots are illegal in my town, but I can legally shoot an intruder in my own house and I always obey the laws.

I see no need of a warning shot or a verbal warning. The intruders family is wrong, had he not tried to break in, he would still be alive, and this discussion would not be happening. You'd think after the numerous arrests already on his rap sheet, if they truly cared about him they would have made some effort to keep him out of trouble.

He shouldn't have shot that nice fella. Look at how friendly his smile is in the picture with no shirt. A life has been lost needlessly. The homeowner might have been able to rehabilitate that guy if he had just tried rather than blowing the poor man away selfishly.

Now as for me, I'd have shot him again....... :)

NO WARNING SHOTS.

Ask any lawyer. You WILL get in more trouble than you think.

Say you fire a warning shot and it scares off the bad guy, the bad guy could be trying to break in your house, your next door neighbor's, your car, etc. He escapes and later the cops are knocking on your door to arrest you for attempted murder. You tried to kill him and you missed while he was just walking down the sidewalk. The whole neighborhood heard you fire but nobody saw it.

He got what he deserved! at least the taxpayers won't have to pay for his sorry @#@ while he's in prison....If more people would shoot the thugs they might think twice before breaking into someones house, nah probably not, they'd rather steal than work!!!!!
