This report will be short and sweet. The Chickamauga tailwater catfishing is not what I want it to be (yet). We're catching a ton of eater channel cats, but the consistent quality blue cats have been hard to come by. HOWEVER, if you fish hard you can usually come up with enough for some great pictures.
Saturday I fished with David Tomlin and his friend, Brad Sturdivant, from Nashville. We fished hard for 26 catfish. I was really cool that David and Brad tied for the biggest fish. They each caught a 27-pounder (not the same fish). Oh yea, both were taken on the light tackle bite... we love that.
On Easter Sunday I was visited by old friends Clint Bailey and his Dad, Dwayne. Clint may well be one of my favorite clients. He works at Jack Daniels Distillery in Lunchburg so he always tips me with some of his hard-earned wares. This year he brought me JD's newest offering with a little cinammon fire mixed in.
I think Dwayne won the day in numbers, but Clint managed the biggest cat at 22 lbs.
It was an absolutely glorious Easter day. We were very thankful for what we've been given, and that means life is good and gettin' better every day!
