I think that officially included every single country cliche there is...the electronic hand clap is a nice touch too.

Blake's soul is sold.

Jason Aldean (sp?) has to be the worst.

Doesn't he sing that song "shake it for me".

Also, not sure who sings it but, the "Living on a Dirt Road" song is bad too. I like the refrain but the redneck rap is stupid.

I hate to admit it but I do like some of the Colt Ford songs. And most of the stuff I have listed to from Brantly Gilbert was not half bad. But this new song from Blake is just BAD. And I am tired of every country song talking about a dirt road.

If you like Colt Ford, check out The Lacs. I have never been a fan of rap with very few exceptions, but really enjoy them.

Can't say I like every song on Blake's new album, but its like any album, there is some good stuff and some I skip right over. Even though I like Rhett Akins version better "Grandaddy's Gun" is one of the best songs on this album.

Think that's Luke Bryan (or Bryant, not sure)
I don't listen to today's country stuff much at all.

Uhhh, Jason Aldean? He's just recent. Some other offenders that come to mind:

Kenny Chesney and his "sexy tractor"
Tim McGraw & Puff Daddy (?) collaboration on something or another
Shaniqua Twain
Rascall Flats
Keith Urban

But I think even the old-timers would say it went downhill decades prior with Glenn Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy".

Rascall Flats..... you may not like there music ( I do ) but they are HUGE contributors to many, many good charities, like St. Jude, among many others. The lead singer is a big deer hunter, and a very good man.

I agree though, todays "country music" is far from country. I like it for what it is, they can call it what ever..... it is what it is.

I also think its easy to cherry pick some of the great songs from the past but mixed in there were some pretty bad country songs. And songs that were not very "country" what ever that means.

Kudos to the band's charity work. But they're a big contributor as well to the downfall of Nashville country music. I'm sure most of the country stars are fun folks to be around, but that doesn't qualify them as authentic country stars. Hell, I'm sure they're great musicians....They are one of the best harmonies in music today. But unfortunately for us, Nashville radio bombards us with their pop crap day in and day out. Play them all day on Top 40 stations. Same with Keith Urban.....he's an incredible musician and he puts on a helluva show. But he's NOT COUNTRY MUSIC.

I've often heard that if you want real country music, you need to quit listening to what comes out of Nashville and listen to what comes out of Texas instead. Even Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson got fed up with Nashville back in the day, and went to Texas...and the rest is history.

Either that, or listen to bluegrass, which is more country than today's country.
