Dunstans from seed doing good

I started some Dunstans from seed around mid December. They are growing like weeds.

I got them off EBay by the pound.

I take two deep plastic totes from walmart that fit one inside the other. The one that is in the inside tote I drill several 1/8" holes in to let water drain into the bottom tote. I them fill the inside tote with pro-mix potting mix, and press the seed in until they are just covered with soil. I water them about every other week.

Unless they get really big, I will take the inter tote out of the other tote, and keep them in it until next Feb. and them pot them in 3 gal. Root Trapper II pots for a year or two.

Looks like your are doing really good. I think most of mine were planted about a month before yours. I bet you growing room is warmer than mine. Mine stays around 60 to 65 most of the time.

Yes Sir, You are correct. This is a heavily insulated office out in my shop (AKA Man-cave). I keep the temperature between 68 - 74. My three plant lights run 18 hrs each day.

I should lower the temperature to slow the tree growth a bit. As you can see,I'm quickly running out of space. I will not be able to move the trees outside for another 5 - 6 weeks.

Did you notice the short white oak trees in the bottom right side of the image? The Dunstans absolutely tripled the White Oak's initial growth rate. I won't know until transplanting, but I assume the oak trees will have better root development.
