I want 2 recreate a dove pearch 2 enhance my field
I have a power line they really like, but it's near the road.

Last season I made a rope about 150yds away from the road (the ideal location my place allows) It got 2 much slack & when doves (kinda l bigger bird) landed it would slightly swing. They'd loose their balance & fly away. ( so it just wasn't their thing)

Looking for ideas for improvements this time? I've tighted it much more & helps but still moves.

Maybe braces near the center? Thoughts? Better ideas?

You could try tying a loop on one end of the rope, then adding a ratchet strap around a tree tree, or stable post- to tighten it up.

I have 2. The first was done with old power poles I reset and took brace fence wire and twisted 2 together to thicken. Anchored to An I bolt on one end then through a pulley at top of other then ran to bottom of pole to a boat winch. When it get loose just a couple cranks and it will tighten whole line. The second one is built just like a real power line with supports and 2 lines. Using real power cables. Both work great and very attractive and a great spot for kids to start out near.

So I decided to add a support in the middle.

Seems that someone approves!!!
