Update....had him right under me this morning, gave him a pass. He gave me 5 minutes of opportunity. Just couldn't convince myself he was more than 3 1/2. This was the first time to see him on foot, have him on camera dozens of times. I'd rather be sorry I didn't shoot than sorry I did.

Totally agree with your last statement: "I'd rather be sorry I didn't shoot than sorry I did"......you have set a goal and you followed your gut.....and with the number of pics you have gotten of him it sounds like he's a "home towner" ....and whether he's 3.5 or 4.5....it would be nice to see him at 4.5 or 5.5.....good luck!!

Look how short the legs look in comparison to the vertical thickness of the body. From that single picture, I would lean towards 4 1/2. But a single picture can be deceiving.
I agree 100% looks to me like his brisket might not be huge but I think that's an individual trait of this deer. His belly looks full and sagging in the second pick and his legs look very short like you pointed out. KILL HIM!

Great to see you here again BSK!

Good to see you post brother how you been ? Leaning towards 4.5 got a little sway in the back but if your pretty much sure he'll make it through the season he should be better next year.

Hes a dandy. Most likely only a 3-1/2. Will be a hoss next year for sure. Would have been a hard pass but i also hunt land that has itchy trigger fingers here there and everywhere around us. Mandate for you to post pictures of him next year :)

Thanks guys! Had him again this morning. I only wish I could guarantee he isn't shot by neighbors, just a risk I have to take. It seems his biggest danger is during the rut, which is now. Other than that he seems to hang on our property. I will definitely follow him and post pics next year....I hope. Our bucks are up and moving he last couple of days!
