Does anybody

Crappie will soak the meat sometimes. If we are just eating steaks, usually no. But when he makes his deer fingers (deep fried), he soaks in milk and mustard. Says the milk is a good tenderizer and mustard adds flavor. When he makes jerky, he marinades it for days. I have to say what he does, 'cause I don't cook deer meat. I love to eat it. But don't attempt cooking since I'm afraid I will screw it up and that would be a crime!!

It depends on the condition of the meat. A old doe or a buck in rutt I do alot of marinateing. A young tender fat deer pre-rut don't worry about it.
