Do you unplug your boat trailer from your tow vehicle...

....before you back it into the water? I just started doing it with my new G3, but never had with my now 10 year old pontoon boat with no issues at all. Actually I am more worried about wearing out the connector on my truck by plugging and unplugging it so much.

What say you?

No, but I launch my personal boat every blue moon. Our hydrographic surveying crews launch their boats most work days into the muddy Mississippi River and never have unplugged. That's been 20+ years and I haven't heard one complaint about the electrical connection.

On my trailers with bulbs, I keep grease on the contacts. On the others with led lights, they are sealed. I never unplug. To me it would be a good way to forget and leave them unplugged only to get stopped at 3am on the way home.
