Do Deer Eat These?

I thought I read somewhere deer like to browse on these, especially in winter. Are they locust tree bean pods or something else?

They will, usually not a favorite but they will def eat them and leave nothing but the string in doing so.

Yes, I watched a button buck eat one last week. Ate it like a fruit roll up. Some of the more experienced deer killers out there have observed that bucks in particular favor locust bean pods. Not sure why. They are from the honey locust tree, the one with the crazy thorns.

Yep we've got them at our campsite. Thorns look downright dangerous lol

Round here we have black locust and honey locust trees. HL are the ones with the wicked thorns. They most definitely eat the HL, not sure about the BL. Arrowed a doe one time with one in her mouth.
